Security
At the heart is security. Built upon NCSC Secure by Design Framework, the service implements technical controls including TLS 1.2, phishing resistant Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), FIPS 140-2 level 3 compliant hardware, 24/7 Protective Monitoring and mTLS enforcement for SMTP relay customers.
Assured to handle OFFICIAL data with sensitive marking, all data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Meets NCSC email security standards for anti-spoofing and privacy.
Certification
All our services meet the highest possible security standards and are independently assessed and certified. We adopt the NCSC NIST v2.0 Framework, Cloud Security Principles and AWS Well Architected Framework as key foundations for our Information Security regime.
We independently assess our services against ISO27001:2013 and NCSC Cyber Essentials Plus annually. Finally, we engage with independent CREST accredited Penetration Test partners to undertake an annual IT Health Check.
Integration and Connectivity
Accessible across the Internet and PSN* Government secure networks, the secure email service ensures any approved organisation can access the service from wherever they are.
Easily integrate our Secure Email Service into your existing enterprise mail servers with our SMTP relay service. Customers already using Office 365 or Google Workspace can integrate through our cloud gateway.
Closed Community
Designed as a closed community ensuring only users within the secure mail community can send or receive messages. A central user directory allows for easy searching for individuals or groups.
SMTP relay provides connectivity between organisations with webmail available for other users. Self-administration allows organisations to manage and support their own user base.
Scalability and Reliability
Working with our cloud partners, we utilise serverless architecture and well architected design patterns to ensure our service can scale during peak times and increased demand from customers.
The service is provided using a high availability scalable architecture across multiple physical UK locations, with defence-in-depth security to protect your data from threats such as malware, phishing and ransomware.
