The Project

Homes England were looking to transition from current on-prem infrastructure to Azure Cloud enabling the transformation of their current ways of working and capabilities to support the new operating model. The Cloud Hosting project will provision a secure and enterprise scalable cloud-hosted Platform as-a-service offering for Homes England on to which future services and applications can be deployed

The Approach

In collaboration with our partner Methods, we provided a Test Consultant to help define best practices for testing in the development and maintenance of Azure-based services. Our approach focused on embedding test automation within the CI/CD pipeline, covering unit, infrastructure, security, and performance testing. We also delivered recommendations on defect management processes and supporting tooling to improve overall quality and efficiency.

The Outcomes

  • Provided an overview of possible test approaches aligned to cloud architectures and Azure services with a focus on scalability, reusability and DevOps principles
  • Emphasised the importance of embedding testing within the delivery pipelines and reporting using focussed dashboards
  • Gave recommendations for close test team collaboration with stakeholders and defect management processes integrated with Jira dashboards
  • Advised on the use of linting tools to enforce coding standards
